My Story

I believe all of us are capable of change at any age with certain determination and compassionate support. I myself took many detours before coming into a career in the mental health field and was stuck in dark phase of life where I felt lonely and worthless. Art helped me number of times in my dark moments. It gave me an opportunity to grow and let me express difficult emotions. I believe now it is my turn to help others in difficult situations and provide support, relaxation and opportunity for self-discovery through creative expression of art therapy.

About me

I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (RP Qualifying) and the Canadian Art Therapy Association. I am from Japan and lived in different parts of the world up until now mostly as an international student. I love to learn and immerse myself in different cultures. 

 

A sense of humor is a big part of my personality. Sometimes when life throws you a curve ball, having a laugh might just help you switch your perspective and mood.

We as human, interpersonal relationship is a big part of what brings us happiness. When there is a stressful relationship in our life, it can impact our mental health drastically. Therapy can help you find the right communication tools to better create healthier relationships in your life.

Trauma

Is there something that happened in the past that bothers your current life? Trauma can make you more vulnerable to other mental health issues such as PTSD. People often learn problematic coping skills to cope with their trauma, which can bring a negative cycle. Art can be a great alternative coping skill, as well as a way to express your pent up emotions.
